How much it'll cost Everton to sign Guela Doue and Liam Delap as David Moyes decides on transfer
Everton are showing interest in signing Chelsea striker Liam Delap and Strasbourg right-back Guela Doue.
Delap, 23, joined Chelsea from Ipswich for £30million last June, but has since struggled to impress, scoring three goals in 47 appearances across all competitions for the London club.
Doue, also 23, has been on the books at Strasbourg since July 2024 and last term, he played 34 times in total - scoring twice and supplying seven assists - to help his side reach the semi-finals of the Coupe de France and Conference League, as well as finish eighth in Ligue 1.
Everton are now keen on deals for both of the players with David Moyes eager to strengthen his squad ahead of the Premier League season kicking off against Crystal Palace at 3pm on Saturday.
The Blues' need for a new right-back is so obvious it's been a topic of discussion at 10 Downing Street, while Beto and Thierno Barry's struggles in front of goal last term make it a must for a new centre-forward to be brought in.
Delap is a long-term target while Doue is an exciting right-back who could full a gaping hole in Everton's squad - but how much will they cost to buy both?
What Everton need to know about the finances of Liam Delap and Guela Doue double deal
Ultimately, both players are in demand and that's going to bump up the figures that The Friedkin Group will need to spend in order to snap them up.
According to talkSPORT on Thursday, Nottingham Forest are currently in pole position to sign Delap ahead of Everton and Leeds United.
Chelsea want £50m for the former Manchester City man.
As for Doue, Sky Sports report that Moyes' preferred right-back option this summer is Ivory Coast international Doue, while Arsenal's Ben White and Crystal Palace's Daniel Munoz are also on the Everton list.
It would, however, cost £40m to pry Doue away from Strasbourg, meaning that the pair would join the Blues as two of their most expensive signings of all time should the demands be met.
Where Delap and Doue would rank in Everton's most expensive signings
Everton's current record signing stands at £50m for the signing of Richarlison from Watford way back in 2018.
If Chelsea's price tag is met by Everton, it would mean that Delap would become their joint-record arrival.
If £40m is paid for Doue, he'd be the new joint-third most expensive signing in the Merseyside club's history alongside Tyler Dibling.
He'd also become the all-time most expensive defender the Toffees have ever had.
