Everton could really do with putting the squeeze on their transfer business this summer.

So far, the Toffees have made three official signings, though two of those were already on loan last season.

Merlin Rohl has completed a full transfer from Freiburg, while Tyrique George joined from Chelsea after the clubs renegotiated a fee.

The only truly new face to join David Moyes' squad is midfielder Hayden Hackney, who arrived from Middlesbrough.

There have been plenty of rumours about who could join and there are several areas that need improving.

But a stat that emerged on Thursday has really highlighted an area that Everton simply must solve this summer.

What problem area do Everton need to solve for David Moyes?

Earlier this month, Goodison News wrote about three things still on Moyes' Everton wish list this transfer window.

On that list was ensuring that Everton sign a new right-back this summer, given it has been a problem area for some time.

Indeed, a stat published by EFC Statto on X really hammered home just how problematic it is.

The stat showed that over the past 10 Premier League seasons, as many as 19 different players have been used at right-back or right wing-back.

Unsurprisingly, Seamus Coleman is top of the list - but he averages 15.4 games per season in that time and has now of course moved on.

The other options range from the likes of Jake O'Brien and Jonjoe O'Kenny to Theo Walcott, Aaron Lennon, and even Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

It is frankly unthinkable that Everton have not been able to find a viable solution to their right-back issues.

Whatever other business happens, and much more is needed quite frankly, they absolutely must make sure they sign a new right-back.

Who could Everton sign at right-back this summer?

In fairness, it is quite evident that a new right-back is high on the list of priorities during the summer window.

West Ham United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a name who has been predominantly linked.

Djed Spence's future at Tottenham Hotspur is also unclear, and he has been mooted with a move to Everton.

More recently, Celtic's Canada international right-back Alistair Johnston has emerged as a leading contender for the Toffees.

Whoever they signed, they need to make sure they get it right because it has been a headache for too long, and they must solve it for Moyes immediately.
