Tyler Dibling will be hoping that Everton's pursuit of Jonathan Rowe is well and truly over.

The former Southampton man featured just 14 times in the Premier League last season.

He was an outcast under David Moyes after signing, unable to win the trust of the boss in his time on the pitch.

If another winger is brought in, it would further reduce his chance of significant game time in the 2026-27 season.

However, that seems to have taken a turn for the worst, which will surely please the 20-year-old.

What does Jonathan Rowe to Everton latest mean for Tyler Dibling?

Everton had enquired about the England Under-21 star who is currently playing in Italy.

A report from Quotidiano Sportivo backs up the Toffees' interest but states that the Emilia-Romagna club do not want to sell.

They look set to lose Santiago Castro to Roma, after a £29.9million bid was accepted.

It states that there is no price that matters for Domenico Tedesco, he can't afford to lose both.

Therefore, the Friedkin Group have played a part in securing Dibling's future with the Merseysiders.

If they secure that deal for Roma, it will likely mean that the Blues can't sign Rowe, and give Dibling a chance instead.

Why Dibling may still find himself on Everton exit route

Dibling could still be in danger, as the Blues want to bring Jack Grealish back to L3.

If that happens, he will be pushed behind the 30-year-old, Tyrique George and Iliman Ndiaye in the winger pecking order.

If the Blues sign another star for the flanks as well as Grealish, it will put the youngster's position in even more doubt.

There has been talk of a loan exit and that would make sense for all parties, as the player would get the playing time that he wants, and the Toffees would see him develop as a player.

With the Hill Dickinson Stadium side in the market for wingers, it does not look like Moyes thinks that Dibling is ready to make the step up.

Given that he was signed for a fee of around £40m, they obviously recognise his potential, but he will not be handed an opportunity to prove it yet.
