Why Everton have revived Jonathan Rowe pursuit as late transfer on cards

Everton's interest in Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe has resurfaced ahead of the transfer window deadline.

The English winger has looked likely to leave the Serie A club this summer with plenty of European sides eyeing a move.

The Toffees have been one of the more consistent teams in that race, but have failed with previous attempts to sign him.

Rowe is looking for a move out of Bologna, but the red and blues are playing hardball over his future.

Now, Everton may be able to test their resolve with a deadline-busting offer.

How much could Everton offer to secure Jonathan Rowe transfer?

Bologna have previously rejected a £30million offer from Everton and told the Premier League side that the winger was not for sale.

But, with Rowe pushing for an exit, there could be another chance for the Toffees to swoop.

According to the print edition of Corriere della Sera on 31 August, Everton's interest in Rowe has "resurfaced" in the last few hours.

Previously, Rowe was said to be sellable for around £42.8m, but it appears that stance has shifted amid the Englishman's wish to leave.

The report shares that an offer of £34.2m could now acquire the services of Rowe this summer.

Will Everton make their move for Rowe?

Whether Everton's resurfacing for Rowe is genuine interest to sign him, or simply a contingency plan should any of their other proposed deals falls through, remains to be seen.

Currently, Richarlison looks set for an Everton return, with Iliman Ndiaye going the other way.

Additionally, Jack Grealish is heavily courted by David Moyes to come back into his squad, and should be sorted.

So, whether or not Rowe would be needed if those arrivals are confirmed is up to how Moyes feels about his current wide options.
