Everton join race for Inter Milan outcast Robin Gosens, Bundesliga club provide tough competition
Everton are in the market for a new left-back and the Toffees have enquired about Inter Milan’s Robin Gosens according to FcIN.
Following the disappointing impact of Ruben Vinagre at Goodison Park, Frank Lampard seems keen to bring a new left-back to Everton to support Vitaliy Mykolenko.
It’s an area that the Toffees could address in January, and Inter outcast Gosens has emerged as a potential target.

FCInternews, relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, report that Everton have “knocked on the agent’s door” for Gosens, who is also a target of Bayer Leverkusen.
Gosens has struggled for minutes in Milan and is worried about his spot in the German national team according to the report. A loan deal is mentioned, with a possible obligation clause to permanently sign the player afterwards.
An ideal target
If Everton are to bolster their left-back department in January, Lampard doesn’t need to go splashing the cash. Mykolenko has proved that he has the potential to be a future star for the Toffees, although a more senior option is never a bad idea.
Gosens at 28 years old has plenty of experience, including in European competitions. He’s technically gifted and tallied up 11 assists in 32 appearances during his last full season at Atalanta.

His arrival would certainly push Mykolenko for his first-team spot and add some vital depth to Everton’s back line. Plus, with Mykolenko’s strongest asset being his defending, Gosens’ more attack-minded approach gives Lampard extra tactical options.
With Gosens reportedly pushing for an exit to help support his spot with the Germany squad, Everton could pick up a bargain price here for a very talented player.
The bid will have to be substantial enough to fend off long-time admirers Bayer Leverkusen, but the Toffees can also rely on the lure of Premier League football in their negotiations.
