Frank Lampard on the brink of losing his job at Everton after Brighton humiliation
Frank Lampard is “on the brink” of being sacked as Everton manager after the humiliating 4-1 defeat to Brighton at Goodison Park.
The Toffees got battered at home and were 4-0 down within an hour, leaving fans furious inside the ground and chanting to “sack the board” once again.
But it seems as though Lampard will be the one to take the hit, with The Telegraph reporting that the ex-Chelsea man is set to lose his job.

“Frank Lampard on the brink at Everton after Brighton humiliation – but vows to fight on,” was the headline (4 January), while they also say that it looks like “being a brief reign at Goodison” for Lampard.
Poor
Words cannot describe how infuriating that performance was to watch as an Everton fan, just days after holding Manchester City to a draw with a top defensive performance.
Why change the system that clearly worked so well just days before? Why can’t we find a way to create chances and be a threat going forward at the same time as defending well?

But while Lampard will take the bullet and probably deservedly so for the performances this season, the big question remains on the owners and board and why they aren’t doing enough to support the team.
Relegation would simply be a disaster heading into a new stadium with huge financial problems already present, and our priority simply has to be survival over anything else.
Fans are yet to fully turn on Lampard, with eyes mainly on Moshiri above him, but there’s no disputing that his performance as manager hasn’t been good enough and being sacked after that showing will leave nobody surprised.
