“Everton can already see the benefit of this with Branthwaite,” he said. “He’s a fantastic player.

“It’s the combination of his technique, his speed and the way he uses his body, in combination with the mentality and in combination with experience at that age, which he got from going on loan.

“These are the pillars that are super decisive for a great career and he brings everything. He keeps on pushing, but for where he is in his career, he’s really excellent.”

Talent

Branthwaite is one of the best talents the Everton academy has produced in a while, and the loan to PSV Eindhoven most definitely helped to shape him into the player he is currently.

Sean Dyche has also been terrific in not putting him under too much pressure to perform immediately and easing him into the team, while accepting that he is still developing and learning.

777 Partners own so many clubs and they see Everton are being top of the pile, benefitting from all those links and being able to take their pick of the best players for their own squad.

But wider questions still exist about where the money has come from, how they operate and run their clubs and if they’re fit and proper owners of a Premier League club as great as Everton.

Those questions aren’t for fans to answer, but it’s clear they have a plan and Branthwaite could be the fact of the project judging by Spors’ words.
