Duncan Ferguson is perfectly suited to spotting a Everton cult hero when he sees one.

The 54-year-old is certainly one of those on the blue half of Merseyside after his two spells at Goodison Park in his playing days.

That was followed be a coaching spell at Everton, including a couple of stints in caretaker charge.

Ferguson is now manager of Glentoran, having been appointed by the Northern Irish team earlier this week.

It may well be that Ferguson tries to sign Everton players for Glentoran early in the New Year.

But he would also like to see his former side do some incoming business of their own.

Who would Duncan Ferguson '100%' like to see at Everton?

While he may not have spent as long at Goodison as Ferguson, Richarlison is another attacker who was an instant hit with the fanbase.

Richarlison wore his heart on his sleeve and always gave his absolute all, while also providing Evertonians with moments to remember.

It is no surprise, then, that Ferguson - who also managed the now-Tottenham forward during one of those caretaker spells - would love to see the Brazilian make the move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

"100 per cent sign him, sign him," Ferguson told Give Me Sport. "I worked with Richarlison, and he's a winner. He's a fighter. He was loved at Everton.

"He scored my first goal in management. Never forget it. Corner, bang header against Chelsea. Great player, great work ethic.

"My advice to the Tottenham manager is to get him back in your team and put your arm around him, kiss and make up.

"That's all you need to do. Kiss and make up. Before you know it, it's all better. "Me personally, as an Evertonian, I'd love him back at Everton."

Richarlison's future at Tottenham has been up in the air for a while now, with Roberto De Zerbi not fancying the 29-year-old.

What Everton now know about Richarlison's Tottenham future after latest update

What's the latest on Richarlison's Tottenham future?

Richarlison is not even part of Tottenham's Premier League squad until January, when they can re-register him if they wish.

That comes on the back of a summer in which Richarlison was strongly linked with a return to Everton, only for no move to materialise.

Quite what the player's stance, Tottenham's stance and Everton's stance will be on a January move is unclear.

Tottenham clearly want him gone and, while Richarlison is rightly refusing to have his future dictated by others, he surely also wants to go somewhere he will play.

The question is whether Everton would be willing to pay whatever fee Spurs are holding out for.

What we do know is that David Moyes would do anything for another forward, especially one with Premier League experience.

And it may well be that Moyes, and indeed Ferguson, get their wish before long.
