Djed Spence will not be joining Everton this summer.

The Toffees have been linked with a whole host of full-backs as David Moyes looks to bolster his options there ahead of the new Premier League season.

Despite the Blues' season getting underway next week, Moyes remains with only one out-and-out right-back in his squad in Nathan Patterson, who's been linked with a move away himself.

After a stunning World Cup for England, 26-year-old Spence was someone tipped to be top right-back addition for Everton if they were to strike a deal with Tottenham.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday, that deal is now looking almost impossible to pull off.

But where does that leave Everton? And what does the future have in store for Spence?

Djed Spence failure compounds Everton's right-back woes

Moyes is under pressure to get Everton off to a flying start this season after what has been an utterly appalling summer transfer window so far.

After being a target for Everton, Spence is now set to join Inter Milan in a deal worth £25.6million after agreeing personal terms with the Serie A giants.

Romano claims hat the agreement is "almost done with final steps to follow" as Spurs get set to sell England's World Cup star.

Spence played at left-back for Thomas Tuchel earlier this summer and with Spurs last term, but throughout his career he's been able to play on both sides of the defence equally as well.

That's no help to Everton, though, who'll have to cross Spence off their list of potential right-back targets with their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace just around the corner.
