Alan Stubbs issues Everton board demands ahead of relegation battle v Bournemouth
Alan Stubbs has issued a demand to the Everton board ahead of “the biggest game in our history” against Bournemouth on Sunday (28 May).
The Toffees head into the final game of the season one point above the relegation zone, meaning a victory will guarantee their safety for next season regardless of what Leeds United or Leicester City do.
And club legend Stubbs took to his personal Twitter account (21 May) to demand that the board don’t release any statements that could divide the fan base ahead of such a crucial fixture and admitted what a “super Sunday” would look like.
“[Everton] please no pathetic statement on the eve of our most important game in our history next weekend,” he wrote.
“A super Sunday next week is;
“1 They have all resigned never to be seen again ideally before the game.
“2 Everton stay up
“3 Everton sold.”
Dream
What a dream weekend that would be, Stubbsy gets it.
Since he initially tweeted this out the news has broken that Farhad Moshiri and MSP Sports Capital have signed documents to enter a period of exclusivity for a takeover.

That’s a huge step towards point number one for Stubbs, and the players now need to step up to ensure number two doesn’t happen.
As for number three the chances of that happening before the end of the season are very slim and probably even lingering on unrealistic at this point.
But if the club can secure their Premier League status with a win at Goodison Park not only would it make the summer a whole lot easier to navigate, but it would also help generate interest in potential buyers and investors for a bigger deal.
We’ll be keeping an eye on all the potential happenings in the next few days, but there’s no doubt the priority has to be getting a win on Sunday.
