Andy Bell and George Downing update emerges amid encouraging Everton takeover twist

The Esk claims that Andy Bell and George Downing have used their own money and remain committed to the Everton takeover.

MSP Sports Capital want a way out of the club after injecting in funds at a crucial time during financial peril.

This comes after the Liverpool Echo reported on 7 June that Bell and Downing are planning to rival the alternate proposals to buy the club.

The Esk wrote on Twitter: “I can assure you Bell, Downing, MSP have received exactly the same scrutiny. I can also confirm Bell & Downing have used their own money & remain committed. MSP want a way out which is going to be offered. In the meantime, they have provided critical support when needed most.

“Hugely encouraging day. Combination of Bell & Downing, wholly committed, successful Evertonians, MSD’s funding capabilities & sports management expertise is a very powerful combination, stabilising the club & providing a platform to move to BM. Should be supported by every blue.”

Everton takeover saga appears to be reaching its final chapter

In addition to the Bell and Downing bid, there are other interested parties, including an unnamed US consortium.

However, the duo’s bid seems to have gained significant traction among the Toffees fanbase, as they are seen as committed and successful Evertonians who can provide stability and a platform to move forward.

As the saga unfolds, fans eagerly await the final decision, hoping for a resolution that will bring stability and a clear direction for the club’s future.

However, this long-drawn takeover saga does finally appear to be reaching a climax and hopefully, the new owners can take the club forward.
