Everton share official takeover update as Farhad Moshiri strikes fresh deal with 777 Partners
Everton have confirmed that they have “alternative scenarios” in place should 777 Partners fail to complete their takeover of the club.
Farhad Moshiri agreed an extension to their exclusivity deal that will run until May 31, giving the Miami-based investment firm until the end of the month to complete their takeover which was agreed back in September.
But in a fresh update the club have confirmed “plans are in place to progress alternative scenarios” should that not happen, as shared by iNews (14 May), with MSP Sports Capital believed to be one of those. It’s also believed that Andy Bell and George Downing are seen as serious options by dealmakers.
Moshiri will hold talks with the FAB next week to discuss the future of the club as the fans seek urgent answers on what is happening at Goodison Park.
Finally Everton share takeover update with fans amid 777 concerns
Ever since the deal with 777 Partners has been on the table there has been very little by way of an official update from anyone, and fans have been relying on leaks from journalists with an interest on one side or the other.
But now the club CEO Colin Chong has publicly gone on record to share the current situation and what the next steps are, and that is all that Everton fans have wanted from the beginning.
It seems highly unlikely that 777 Partners will be able to complete a deal in the coming weeks considering they have had eight months to do so, and their own financial situation is up in the air with lawsuits on the cards.

It seems as though the alternative parties that have been lurking in the background are beginning to come to the fore also, which is a positive thing.
It’s a further, unnecessary delay for the takeover but at least the fans know what is going on now and ideally the club can get the next stage wrapped up much quicker.
